Luminance Chat
Cross-portfolio chat for open questions about your whole book. For leadership and CS Ops.
What it is for
Luminance Chat is LealUp's cross-portfolio AI chat. Unlike Ask this customer, which is scoped to the customer or contact you have open, Luminance answers questions across your whole book, with your role's permissions.
It is the tool for exploratory questions of the "which customers", "what segment", "in which week" kind, that used to mean opening 20 records and keeping spreadsheets.
When to use it
- Leadership: "which Enterprise customers dropped from Green to Amber health last quarter?"
- CS Ops: "which customers mentioned competitors (X, Y, Z) in their messages?"
- Internal QBR prep: "give me 5 bullets on what happened with the January cohort".
How to reach it
- Floating button in the bottom-right corner on any screen.
- Main menu → Intelligence → Luminance Chat.
The scope of the answer depends on your role:
- admin / director: the whole workspace book.
- csm: only the customers assigned to them.
- viewer: whatever they have permission to see, usually limited.
Example
Valentina opens Luminance Chat and types: "Which 10 Enterprise customers are most at risk of not renewing in the next 90 days, and what is the main reason for each?".
Luminance answers with a table of 10 customers ordered by risk, each row carrying:
- Customer name and owning CSM.
- Renewal date.
- Main reason detected (low health, negative sentiment, unresolved requests, competitor mentioned).
- A direct link to the record.
Valentina turns that into the agenda for the weekly standup with her CSMs.
What it does not do
- It does not take actions (create tasks, send messages). It only answers; you decide what to do.
- It does not replace Analytics for standard metrics. Analytics has pre-built dashboards; Luminance is for ad-hoc exploration.
- It does not know what it does not know. Ask about data that is not in LealUp (your external CRM's sales pipeline, unintegrated) and it will not invent it.
- It is not Alfred. Alfred teaches you the product; Luminance queries your data.
Known limitations
- Very broad queries ("tell me everything about my book") are rejected with a suggestion to narrow them.
- Answers are bounded: on a large result set it returns the most relevant items rather than the full list. There is no export.
- It keeps no history. Each query is independent and nothing is recorded when you close it. If you need to keep a result, copy it before you leave.
