Ask this customer

Open question with a specific customer's context (or a specific contact's). Structured, cited answer.

What it is for

An answer-oriented version of RAG Search. Instead of returning moments for you to read, it writes a cited answer about the customer you have open.

It also differs in that you can filter by a specific contact at the company, which helps when several people hold different positions (the champion is happy but the CFO complains about price).

When to use it

  • Preparing a complex reply: "summarize the technical requirements Acme asked us for over the last 3 months".
  • Aligning a handover: "give me 3 bullets on the relationship with this customer for the new CSM".
  • Telling internal opinions apart: "what is the CTO's position versus the CEO's on our expansion proposal?".

How to reach it

  • Customer record → Ask Luminance tab → "Written answer" mode (versus "See moments", which is classic RAG search).
  • Contact record → Ask about this contact (the per-contact filter is applied automatically).

Example

Joaquín has to write an expansion proposal for Acme Corp. He opens the record, Ask Luminance tab, Written answer mode, and types: "Summarize the upgrade needs Acme expressed over the last 6 months, split by contact (champion vs technical buyer)".

LealUp returns:

Ana (Champion): Asked for the advanced reporting module in January (ref. email 2026-01-15), mentioned interest in custom dashboards in March (ref. WhatsApp 2026-03-08).

Pedro (CTO, Technical Buyer): Objects to current pricing, asks for SAML SSO (ref. email 2026-02-20) and bulk import via API (ref. call notes 2026-04-02).

Both agree on: a native HubSpot integration (ref. multiple messages in 2026-Q1).

Every citation links to the original message or note.

What it does not do

  • It does not send the answer to the customer. That is manual copy-paste, or raw material for you to write from.
  • It does not ask cross-customer questions (that is Luminance Chat).
  • It does not produce long unsourced answers. If there is not enough context, it says so.

Known limitations

  • The per-contact variant depends on conversations being grouped by contact. If you do not see that option, write to us and we will check your workspace.
  • Answers are capped at around 500 words. For longer syntheses, use classic RAG search and write it yourself.
