Notifications
Choose what LealUp tells you and where: in the app, by email, or in Slack.
LealUp tells you when something deserves your attention. You decide what and where, type by type, from your notification preferences.
The three channels
| Channel | When it arrives |
|---|---|
| In the app | Always. This is the bell, and it does not switch off |
| Only for certain types, and only if you turn it on | |
| Slack | If you turn it on and your organization has Slack connected |
Settings are per notification type, not global. You may want a health alert in your inbox and a team mention to stay in the bell.
What can reach you by email
This is the part worth reading carefully, because not every type is eligible.
These do arrive by email:
- Renewal due
- Task due
- Health alert
- Sentiment alert
- Stage changed
- Playbook triggered
- Insight generated
These do not arrive by email, though they still show in the bell:
- Email reply
- WhatsApp message
- Task overdue
- Team mention
- System alert
That list is not an arbitrary limit: those are the types that have an email template written for them. A type with no template is skipped rather than sending you an empty email.
Email frequency
For each eligible type you choose when you want the email:
| Frequency | What happens |
|---|---|
| Real time | The email goes out as soon as the event happens |
| Daily | It joins a digest that goes out once a day |
| Weekly | It joins a weekly digest |
| Never | Nothing is sent |
The daily and weekly digests are assembled by a scheduled process. Real time and the digests are deliberately mutually exclusive, so the same notification never reaches you twice.
Managing the bell
- See all: the full list of what you have received.
- Mark as read, one at a time.
- Mark all as read, for when you come back from holiday.
Clicking a notification takes you straight to where it happened: the customer record, the WhatsApp conversation, the task.
Setting them up well
- Be stingy with real time. If everything is urgent, nothing is, and you end up filtering LealUp's email into a folder you never open.
- Reserve email for what needs action today: renewal due, health alert. The rest sits fine in the daily digest.
- Slack works better for the collective stuff, when you want the team to see the signal, not just you.
- Revisit your preferences after the first month. You will find two or three types you always ignore: turn those off.
Common problems
"I am not getting the emails"
Check in this order:
- That the notification type is on the eligible list above. Five types are not emailed by design.
- That you have email enabled for that type in your preferences. It ships off by default.
- That the frequency is not set to "Never".
- If it is "Daily" or "Weekly", that the digest window has passed.
"I am getting too many"
Move the types that do not demand immediate action down to the daily digest. That is the single adjustment that helps most.
"I do not see the Slack option"
Your organization does not have Slack connected. It is a workspace-level integration an admin sets up (see Slack).
